Common words Idols use when tweeting - Part 2

I'm back with part 2 of common words idols tend to use when tweeting ^^ Words regarding photos~~ ^^

 1. Selca 셀카 (Selca comes from the words Self camera.)

2. Two Shot 투샷 (Which just means a photo of 2 people)

3. Three Shot 쓰리샷 ( and the list goes on ^^)

4. Another word that you might want to know is 도찰. It means a photo is taken secretly or unexpectedly.  

5. Proof shot 인증 (This just means that the photo is proof of what they were saying is true)

Lesson 3 - Syllable ~ Final closure (Pronouncing the final consonant)

Hey guys~ i hope your able to memorise the Korean Alphabet by now~ or atleast half of it ^^ 
NOW this is where learning Korean gets harder~ ^^ ready? ㅋㅋㅋ


This lesson is on the Pronouncation/Sounds of each final Consonant

So what the chart above means is:
When a character/syllable ends in a ㅂ, you will pronouce it as a ㅂ. 
But when a character/syllable ends in a ㅍ, you will pronounce it as a ㅂ

Confusing? Don't worry, you'll get there! ^^
Some more examples

 Don't get this confused with the special consonants  g/k*   and   r/l*
(In lesson 2)
Recap: Its is WRITTEN as a G if the consonant is first (or on top) and it is WRITTEN as a K is the consonant is last (or on the bottom) etc.

But with the other consonants mentioned in this lesson, it is still WRITTEN the same but pronounced differently.


Now, don't worry if you didn't understand this lesson, it's not something you'll need to memorise just yet (trust me) ^^
As long as you know why sometimes its written one way BUT pronounced another way then that's fine~ ^^


**Have you ever noticed how Koreans freaks out when they need to play a dictation game? It's not because they can't spell haha Its because (as you just learnt) Speaking and Writing Korean is two different things. 
Example: I can say to you "Hey buy me a ggot (flower)" but if i was going to write it to you, ill write "Hey buy me a ggoch (flower)"


But i might forget that flower is written as 'ggoch 꽃' and write it as 'ggot 꽅' by mistake, thats when ill have a spelling mistake.
Make sense? LOL, dun worry if it didnt ^^

Common expression used when tweeting

So someone is tweeting and all you see is the same word over and over again? Think they made a typing mistake? LOL korean has alot of slang for expressions~ Heres some examples below.


1. Most popular word you'll see when a korean tweet is ㅋㅋㅋ. What does it mean? It just means that the person is laughing (same as our 'lol') ㅋ in korean has the sound 'k' and peope use it when they want to show that they are laughing.

 2. And similarly ㅎㅎㅎ is also used very often~ ㅎ has a 'h' sound, This is kinda like 'hehehe'

Well now when you see ㅎㅎㅎ and ㅋㅋㅋ just imagine him/her smiling ^^


3. 흑흑 (heuk heuk) Is the korean sound for crying, so its the same as our *sobs* or *cries*

4. Can you guess what ㅇㅋ is? Just sound it out~ ㅇㅋ stands for OK ^^

5. Sometimes you'll see ㅇㅇ Which means 'Yes' . You're probably confused and wondering why two circle means yes, ㅇㅇ is from 응 which has the sound of 'eung' . Like when your nodding your head and going eung eung (agreeing with someone). So 응 means yes, and Korean tweets ㅇㅇfor a shorter way.

So thats 5 useful expression you can memorise ^^

Im going to start putting up common words that idols use alot when tweeting~ So hopefully next time they tweet, you'll start to understand it too~ ^^


1.  Sleepy 졸려(Casual)  졸려요 (Polite)

2. Good night 잘자(causal) 잘자요(polite) 안녕히 주무세요(honorific)

So After Lesson 1 and 2, hopefully you've memorised the Korean Alphabet by now ^^ This is just a quick revision to see how much you've memorised. Answers will be in the next lesson. (Try not to cheat and do and much as you   can without looking back at lessons 1 and 2. ^^)

Just a little information about translating Korean to English

Just a little info about the Korean language for those interested....

Sometimes, when a Ukiss member tweets something, and 3 different people/fanclubs translate it into English for you. Usually all 3 people will translate it differently to eachother. That doesn't mean that someone had translate it wrong, its hard to translate the Korean meaning into the english meaning perfectly.

FOR EXAMPLE.
When Koreans say I love you to eachother, they will say 'saranghae' right?
Saranghae literal meaning is 'love'. its NOT 'i love you' but 'love'
So lets say Soohyun tweets "kissme love"
person 1 will translate it as "kissme, i love you"
person 2 will translate it as "i love you kissme"
person 3 will translate it as "i love kissmes"

So we can never translate it word by word, because if we did, we will translate it as "kissme love" and you would not understand what that means.

Does this make sense? lol ^^

Lesson 2 - Creating a Character/Syllable

There's only 5 ways you can form a character, and there's NEVER more than ONE vowel  in a character.
C = Consonant       V = Vowel

Example 닭 (Dalk)                       안(an)                                  녕(nyeong)

Special Consonants:   g/k*    r/l*   ng*  (How to know what letter it is when reading a character)
